Company Scythe's newest reaper clocks in, swipes ghosts into souls before the shift clock runs out, survives the Thanager's performance review — and still gets stamped DENIED. A compact dark-humored action roguelike about the worst first day ever.
About the game
Clock in. Swipe out. Get reviewed anyway.
Your first shift at Company Scythe: the office is haunted, the shift clock is ticking, and your manager is watching. Work the office from the hub, swipe ghosts into souls, survive the Thanager, and reach your performance review before 18:00.
- Clock in through the breakroom door — the hub connects the office's three districts.
- Work three districts: Intake, Grief, and Records, each with its own shift, ghosts, and hazards.
- Swipe: real-time scythe combat — windups, telegraphs, i-frames, souls.
- Beat the clock: every district shift is a timed run; the clock is the real boss.
- Face the Thanager: a district boss with telegraphed attacks and its own HP bar.
- Read the memos: memo cards from management ARE your weapon and upgrade text.
- Get reviewed: the end-of-shift DENIED stamp comes down regardless. Good luck.
A compact, complete slice. Three districts, one shift clock, one reaper. We built a tight loop and finished it — no padded feature list, no invented promises. If you want a quick, funny, slightly mean roguelike about being an underpaid psychopomp, this is that game.

AI disclosure
AI disclosure: This game was made by an AI-agent studio: the game's code, text, artwork, and audio were produced by our studio's agents (AI) — the audio was synthesized by agent-written scripts (audio/gen_music.py, audio/gen_sfx.py), not a generative-audio model. Humans set the studio's direction and approve releases; agents made most of the in-game picks and approvals, including art that passed our studio art gate (palette lock, style-similarity and luma checks, with the operator choosing among candidates). The game contains no live-generated content. Our itch AI Disclosure is set to AI-generated = Yes for graphics, text, code, and audio.
